Zoom whitening is the the best teeth bleaching system on the market. Most patients see 4-7 shades improvement following Zoom. It is extremely important to stay away from food and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, pasta sauce, etc. for 48 hours following the teeth whitening procedure. The enamel remains porous for this period of time making it easy for the above mentioned items to penetrate the outer surface of enamel and negatively alter your results. After the first couple of days you can go back to your normal routine.

You are most vulnerable to stains for 48hrs after your in office whitening because the pores in the teeth are still open. If you need to drink dark liquids, use a straw to bypass the front of your teeth.

To maintain your new white smile, you have to use products that will remove stain before they penetrate.

The protocol for zoom whitening is to refrain from all drinks and foods that would stain a white T-shirt for 48 hours . Obviously you can not stay with clear colored foods for 48 hours unless you survive on water for 2 days! So the protocol is to drink water for 48 hours, and every time you eat, brush and rinse right away soon after consuming the food .Simply do not allow stain forming foods to remain on your teeth for long. This ever one can do.

After a Zoom procedure we recommend that you stay on white or clear foods for 24 hours just like you did with Brite Smile. I would never recommend to a patient that they avoid foods for 3 days.

Immediately after Zoom whitening your teeth are prone to absorbing stains. We tell our patients “anything that will stain a white shirt will stain your teeth.” The foods/beverages that we tell our patients to avoid are: coffee, smoking, pasta sauces, soy sauce, ketchup, berries, juices, soda etc… For the first 2 weeks your teeth are more prone to absorbing stain, the first 48 hours are crucial. Nobody is perfect, so if you happen to eat something that will stain your teeth just be sure to brush your teeth as soon as possible. Good Luck!
